Overview

This 5-day journey is a gentle yet rewarding loop that follows the eastern rim of the valley. Starting from the oldest temple in Nepal (Changu Narayan), you will hike through the popular hill station of Nagarkot, the historical town of Dhulikhel, and the sacred Buddhist site of Namobuddha, before ending in the picturesque villages of Balthali and Panauti. It is an ideal trip for families, beginners, or travelers with limited time who still want a genuine Himalayan

Day 01 :

Hike to Changu Narayan & Nagarkot

After a short drive from Kathmandu, visit the Changu Narayan Temple. From here, the hike begins through pine forests and small Tamang villages. The trail ascends gradually towards Nagarkot (2,175m). In the evening, enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Himalayas from your hotel balcony.

Day 02 :

Nagarkot to Dhulikhel

Wake up early for the famous Nagarkot sunrise. Today’s hike is a scenic 6-hour walk along the ridge. You’ll pass through terraced fields and the village of Nala before reaching Dhulikhel, an ancient trade center known for its stunning mountain views and traditional Newari architecture.

Day 03 :

Dhulikhel to Namobuddha

Today we walk towards one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. The trail leads through lush forests and local farms. Upon reaching Namobuddha, explore the majestic monastery and soak in the spiritual atmosphere of this holy site.

Day 04 :

Namobuddha to Balthali

After breakfast, we descend through orange orchards and traditional villages. Crossing a suspension bridge, we reach the Balthali Village, a secluded plateau. This is a day for complete relaxation, surrounded by green hills and the sound of the Roshi River.

Day 05 :

Balthali to Panauti & Return to Kathmandu

The final leg is a short, easy walk to Panauti, an ancient town situated at the confluence of two sacred rivers. Explore the Indreshwar Mahadev Temple before our private vehicle picks you up for the 1.5-hour drive back to Kathmandu.
