Trip Overview

The Nirvana and Spirituality tour is a 7-day immersive retreat into the heart of Hindu and Buddhist traditions. You will explore the “Big Three” Durbar Squares, witness the sacred rituals of Pashupatinath, and find stillness at Swoyambhunath. The journey then ascends to Nagarkot for Himalayan sunrises and culminates at Namo Buddha, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world, where the spirit of compassion is tangible in every prayer flag.

Day 01 :

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport. Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Welcome to the land of the Buddha. A Nirvana Journeys representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend your first evening soaking in the spiritual atmosphere of the city.

Day 02 :

Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Start your journey at Swoyambhunath, watching the "all-seeing eyes" look over the valley. Explore Kathmandu Durbar Square’s ancient palaces before heading to Patan, the "City of Fine Arts," to see the Golden Temple and the Krishna Mandir.

Day 03 :

Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Dive into the medieval grace of Bhaktapur. Later, visit Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu shrine in Nepal, to observe the cycle of life and death. End the day at Bouddhanath, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, joining hundreds of pilgrims in an evening Kora.

Day 04 :

Drive to Changu Narayan and 2 hours of Hiking/Driving, and overnight in Nagarkot.Hotel

Drive to the hilltop Changu Narayan Temple. From here, enjoy a gentle 2-hour hike (or short drive) through pine forests and villages to Nagarkot. Overnight at a hotel with views of the Himalayas.

Day 05 :

Hiking/Driving to Namo Buddha. Overnight at Monastery/Hotel in Namobuddha.

A scenic drive/hike takes you to Namo Buddha. This is the peak of your spiritual journey. You will spend the night at a monastery or nearby lodge, participating in evening prayers and soaking in the silence of the hills.

Day 06 :

Visit Panauti and return to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Walk down to Panauti, a historic Newari settlement. Visit the Indreshwar Mahadev Temple before driving back to Kathmandu. Use this final evening for reflection or a farewell dinner.

Day 07 :

Departure to the airport for the return flight to the next destination

Transfer to the airport for your return flight, carrying the peace of the Himalayas with you.
